I first came across the Eau Thermale Avène range in a beautiful and very smart chemist in Spain. I tried the day cream and loved it: it was clean and soft to the touch and very hydrating. More recently I heard about their new Antirougeurs range, a brand new addition to the Avene family that has been designed especially for sensitive skin and redness relief. There isn’t much out there for mild rosacea or simply redness, so I was intrigued to see how effective it was. The Antirogeurs Jour Redness-relief, moisturizing protective cream regulates the microcirculation of the skin and protects it from climatic and temperature changes. It contains very rich spa water of Avène – the key ingredient in the range – known for its calming and anti-irritant properties, which helps to gradually relieve the feeling of skin irritation. It also has enriched extract of Ruscus to help reduce redness and an SPF 20, making it safe to wear all year round. And it smells fantastic – it reminds me a bit of Oil of Olay. I have been wearing it for a few days now, and although I don’t have any severe redness my skin feels particularly clear, fresh and hydrated.
The Avène Thermal Spring Water is very low mineralised and has been clinically proven to be naturally soothing, anti-irritating and anti-free radical.
