Sun shield

beautyspotblogAs you know, one of the main contributors to premature skin ageing is exposure to the sun, so wearing sun cream or make up with an SPF is an absolute must if you want to look great at every age. But like with everything in life, there’s sun protection and there’s sun protection, which is why I want to tell you about a label which has just launched in the UK. It’s a range of products called Ladival and which is pretty revolutionary in its approach to sun protection because as well as blocking your skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays it also blocks it from Infrared-A light, which effectively translates into having 4 times more sun protection than your average sun cream.

37% of the sun’s rays are damaging to the skin. Current sun screens that you know and buy, only protect against UVA and UVB. That means they only protect you against 7% of those rays. By protecting against Infrared-A as well, Ladival offers protection against four times more of the sun’s damaging rays.

The range includes lotions and sprays at SPFs 15, 30 and 50, as well as a children’s range. The products are free from perfume, colourants, preservatives and emulsifiers and suitable for sensitive skin (including eczema, and sun allergy and prickly heat sufferers). I tried the 15SPF lotion for every day use on my face and loved its ‘barely-there’ texture and the slight sheen it gives the skin. Next time you plan a holiday in the sun add Ladival to your checklist, you won’t regret it!

The Ladival range is available at £19.99 and is available at Boots and leading supermarkets nationwide. For more information go to Ladival.co.uk.
