Inside beauty

beautyspotblogI love fruit juice, but there are some fruits that I’m not used to consuming as juices, so when I do it’s an interesting experience…One such fruit is pomegranate – a fruit I absolutely love because of it’s tart sweetness, so I tried POM Wonderful Pomegranate 100% Juice and I must say I’m pretty hooked. It’s nice on its own but also with fizzy water and ice, for a remarkably refreshing drink. The good thing about having pomegranate in juice form is that it’s available all year round and it’s also very accessible – no peeling or preparing, just pouring it into a glass and you get most of its benefits. Apart from tasting delicious, pomegranate is the most powerful anti-oxidant of all fruits and is a great source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Potassium, Folate and Copper. And a very interesting fact is that a every pomegranate fruit is composed of exactly 840 seeds 🙂 The inner membranes and rind aren’t  consumed due to their high acid content, but are often used by cosmetic companies as an active ingredient in skin care products. It’s important to beautify ourselves from the inside out, as well as from the outside in, and I truly believe that you are what you eat – or in this case what you drink, so choose wisely when nourishing your body and above all enjoy!

Editor’s tip: Pomegranate fruit can be used as a facial scrub. Mix 1 teaspoon of pomegranate seeds with a teaspoon of brown sugar, two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon of avocado oil to make a facial scrub. Use it daily for a few minutes to remove dead skin cells and get a clean and glowing skin. You can also use the seed paste as a body scrub to remove excess oil.

POM Wonderful Pomegranate 100% Juice from concentrate is available in Waitrose, Ocado, Marigold and Whole Foods (RRP £1.59 190ml). For more information go to
