Snack attack!

beautyspotblogWe’ve all heard the phrase “you are what you eat”,  and that beauty is as much what we do on the outside as what we consume on the inside, which is why it’s so important to eat well – especially when we’re on the go, as unhealthy snacks are all to readily available. Healthy snacks are a great addition to anyone’s diet and because Meridian’s new Peanut & Banana nut bar is high in protein it will keep you feeling fuller for longer, preventing you from picking any further. I put this bar to the test when my husband went cycling the other day. He frequently eats nut bars or energy bars to give him fuel on his ride, but often they’re laden with refined sugar and have little protein in them so he needs to eat several to keep him going. When he returned, looking tired in his lycra kit, I asked him what he thought of the Peanut & Banana bar, to which he replied “Delicious! Have we got any more?” he then elaborated by saying that he enjoyed the texture and flavour in equal measures and that it gave him plenty of energy. I, of course, couldn’t resist and tried one too: Despite not being a big banana fan, I also loved it; I found the combination of flavours and texture extremely balanced and complementary: it’s sweet but not too sweet, crunchy but not too crunchy, making it an enjoyable snack at any time of day. It’s suitable for vegetarians and vegans and free from refined sugar, palm oil, added artificial colourings, preservatives and flavourings, and from GMOs (genetically modified organisms). So next time you have a snack attack, give it a go, it’s simply delicious and I’m sure it will hit the spot.
